Clean Up with Friends

The day began with getting to the school and meeting up friends and getting into our groups. One of the guys who was in charge to get the volunteers into groups suggested that we go to the park. So we decided that we would go to Proska Park. We walked around for about 30 minutes and learned that we could leave the area to go to more of Berwyn. We ended up going to sunshine park, Janura, and Irving elementary school. After that our garage bags were pretty full so we went back to the school to eat and sign out so we could get our points. After all it was a pretty good day because I got to hang out with my friends for most of the day.

Kids Perspective on Holocaust

Based on the poems that we read the landscape is said to be very beautiful. In The Boy With the Striped Pajamas they talk about how the landscape was beautiful and in the movie you can actually see how there is a nice forest and flowers but that all end once you end the concentration camps. In the pictures we saw there was people that were really malnourished. And in the movie the little boy was always really hunger.

In the movie every thing was really sad and gloomy but in the poems some of them were really happy and trying to find the good in stuff. In the poems they didn't talk about the gas chambers but in the movie in the last scene they show the little boys perspective and it shows how they stuffed them into the chamber and they fillled it with gas. And they part makes it really sad.

In  the movie life was viewed as beautiful by the little boys becoming friend even though one of them was a Jew. Both of them were really happy to have a friend and they played and laughed together. And even though one of them was told that the jews were bad but he didn't believe it because he knew his friend was good.

Unstoppable By: Tim Green

Unstoppable is the fictional story of a boy named Harrison who is a orphan. He first lives with a foster family that is really mean and they beat him if they think he did something wrong. They try to adopt him for some strange reason and they end up adopting him. But when they got back to their home Harrison continues his chores and his new "dad" comes in to beat him for not calling him pops when Harrison finally fights back and accidentally stabbed him with a Pickford. This leads to Harrison being put into a Juvenial center until he is adoped into a very nice family. Harrison's new family was phenomenal . His adoptive father was a football coach, Harrison asked him if he could play football. But during the season he gets hurt and he faces a serious problem but he over comes it. Read the book to find out what happens.

I really liked this book because it was so good to see someone's life get turned upside down in a matter of seconds. I also think this this book shows how nothing can stay at its peak forever. Whatever goes up has come down. I think that kids who play on teams and especially football players would enjoy the detail that the author gives when he is playing football. The way he explains it is really good and you can make a movie in your head about it. I think that the ending shows how even if you have an injury it can't stop you from doing what you love too do.

Spring Break

This spring break was average. I had to rest a lot, which I hated because I sprained my ankle. I had to ice it for a long time. But thanks to that I recovered very quickly. So quick. That I started walking about last Thursday. But my ankle was still swollen even tho I had obtained the idea that it would be fully healed. On Thursday I was able to bo to the movies with my friend and we finally got to watch Beauty and the Beast. On Friday I went over to my friends house and other people came over. Saturday I did do any thing. Sunday I went to church and I had a cook out with my family. Over all I think that I had a good spring break.

Cook out with my family

Yesterday I had a cookout with my family for my cousins birthday. Everyone in my family is very loquacious so it was really loud. Me and my other cousins played volleyball, ate ice cream, and rode our bike. This is what we usually do when we have cook outs. The adults talk to each other and laugh. There is always lots of food and my favorite thing that we have is elotes. Cookouts with my family are really fun and I enjoy going to them.
